The phrases
잘 지냈어요?
jal jinaesseoyo?
How have you been?
지내다 = to get along, to be doing. Past tense, because you are asking about the time since you last met.
어디에서 왔어요?
eodieseo wasseoyo?
Where are you from?
오다 in the past is 왔어요, and 에서 = from. Literally: where did you come from?
천천히 말해 주세요
cheoncheonhi malhae juseyo
Please speak slowly
천천히 = slowly.
다시 말해 주세요
dasi malhae juseyo
Please say that again
다시 = again.
이해했어요
ihaehaesseoyo
I understand
이해 = understanding, 이해하다 = to understand. The past is the natural form — you have just understood.
이해 못했어요
ihae motaesseoyo
I don't understand
못 goes before the verb and means you could not, not that you chose not to. 잘 못 들었어요 is the gentler version.
한국 음식 좋아하세요?
hanguk eumsik joahaseyo?
Do you like Korean food?
하세요 is the honorific question form. Use it with anyone older or senior.
취미가 뭐예요?
chwimiga mwoyeyo?
What do you do for fun?
취미 = hobby. A very standard question, and a safe one.
날씨가 정말 덥네요
nalssiga jeongmal deomneyo
It's really hot, isn't it
-네요 shares something you've just noticed. 덥네요 is said 덤네요 — ㅂ before ㄴ becomes ㅁ.
주말 잘 보냈어요?
jumal jal bonaesseoyo?
Did you have a good weekend?
잘 보내다 = to spend (time) well. 주말 잘 보내세요 is how you say it on the way out on Friday.
