I've been learning Korean for six months
V-(으)ㄴ 지 + duration + 됐어요 = 'it's been X since I started'.
저는 회사에서 일해요
jeoneun hoesaeseo ilhaeyo
I work at a company
에서 marks where an action happens.
아직 배우고 있어서 실수를 많이 해요
ajik baeugo isseoseo silsureul mani haeyo
I'm still learning, so I make a lot of mistakes
-고 있다 = ongoing; -아/어서 = 'so / because'.
한국 음식을 정말 좋아해요
hanguk eumsigeul jeongmal joahaeyo
I really like Korean food
을/를 marks the object — 음식을 = 'food' as the thing liked.
시간 있을 때 뭐 하세요?
sigan isseul ttae mwo haseyo?
What do you do in your free time?
-(으)ㄹ 때 = 'when'. 하세요 is the polite honorific.
한국에 온 지 얼마나 됐어요?
hanguge on ji eolmana dwaesseoyo?
How long have you been in Korea?
V-(으)ㄴ 지 + 됐어요 = 'it's been this long since'. Same shape as 배운 지 6개월 됐어요.
저는 삼십 대예요
jeoneun samsip daeyeyo
I'm in my thirties
대 = decade of life. 이십 대 = twenties, 사십 대 = forties. Sino numbers.
혼자 살아요
honja sarayo
I live alone
혼자 = alone, by oneself. 같이 is its opposite.
한국 드라마를 자주 봐요
hanguk deuramareul jaju bwayo
I watch Korean dramas a lot
자주 = often. 드라마 is the loanword, and it means a TV series.
요리하는 걸 좋아해요
yorihaneun geol joahaeyo
I like cooking
V-는 것 turns a verb into a noun: 요리하는 것 = 'the cooking'. 걸 is 것을 shortened.
성격이 좀 조용한 편이에요
seonggyeogi jom joyonghan pyeonieyo
I'm on the quiet side
-(으)ㄴ 편이에요 = 'tends to be', a hedge Korean uses constantly for self-description.
